RE:      Vancouver Metro Soccer League Labor Pool

I have agreed to make myself available for employment as a member of B.C. Athlete Labor Service (the Pool).  I understand that the purpose of the Pool is to facilitate the employment of Pool members by a third-party employers (an “Employer”), and to financially assist in the development of the Vancouver Metro Soccer League.  I further understand that the Pool intends to enter into agreements with Employers (the Pool Agreement) defining the obligations of the Pool and the Employer with respect  to the Employer’s employment of Pool members.

In consideration of the Pool assisting me in finding part-time work with the Employers, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, I hereby agree as follows:

If my membership in the Pool directly or indirectly results in employment with an Employer, either as an employee or an independent contractor, I will provide the Pool within 5 days of all relevant information regarding such employment, including: commencement date of employment, duration of employment, the rate of  pay or salary, and any related benefits.

To only be employed with the Employer through my membership in the Pool, I will not accept any form of employment with the Employer that is not subject to a Pool Agreement without, first informing the Pool.

To inform the Pool of any offers by the Employer to employ me on terms that are not subject to a Pool Agreement

To maintain records of my hours worked while employed by the Employer.

To, upon request by the Pool, provide such records to the Pool.

To hereby consent to the Employer releasing to the Pool the Records while employed by the Employer.

I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT PRIOR TO SIGNING IT.

EMPLOYMENT POOL

To assist in securing full or part-time work (employment) for Member Players (Athletes) by a third-party Employers.

Pool has made arrangements with “Employers”, such firms as Restoration, Roofing, Painting and Constructing Companies in supplying reliable and committed workers from our members.

This situation is suitable for student summer employment, athletes from out of district or Province requiring employment while playing for a team, or while trying to secure a permanent position or trade. 

While you are employed by an Employer you may be able to apply for a permanent position or enter into a journeyman apprenticeship program.

You will be employed by and will be on the payroll of B.C. Athlete Labor Service. Thus you will be covered under the B.C. Workers Compensation Program as well as covered for liability.  You will also be under the Bond of the “Employer”.  

When registering with B.C. Athlete Labor Service please note your availability as to days of the week, hours, and your preferences as this will facilitate allocation of work.

Also it is imperative that we have all contact numbers and time you are available to be contacted as Employers require an  answer as to the availability of workers as soon as possible.
