VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE #3
Despite numerous warnings, some teams are still not adhering to the simplest rules imaginable! We are running the risk of losing field allotments in various districts due to the total disregard of these simple rules by some of our members! The two rules that are broken most frequently are:
The open consumption of
alcoholic beverages: Please tell your players, officials, and fans to cease
this practice. We have been warned by some districts that we will lose our
permits to use their fields if this continues to happen. Often, the fault
lies with the away team’s fans—after all, what have they got to lose? The
home team’s officials should take it upon themselves to warn the away team
that public consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted. If this is
done, and if the away team continues the practice, then the home team should
notify us immediately and we will take the next step. Trust me, you will not
like the next step!
The encroachment of fields prior to our teams’ allotted time: This has happened frequently—particularly at Burnaby Lake West Complex. Burnaby-based teams were warned at a pre-season meeting that they could easily lose their allotment if the strict Burnaby rules were not followed. One of these rules is very plain: Do not enter the field of play before your allotted time! Do not warm up behind the goals when a game is being played! Find another place to warm up! Again, it is the responsibility of the home team to instruct its opponents to stay away from the field of play until the allotted time! If the away team disregards this instruction, the home team should notify us immediately. We are on the verge of losing field allotments in Burnaby because of this infringement!!!
