URGENT NOTICE
TO:
TEAM MANAGERS AND REFEREES
RE:
TEAM ROSTERS and ID CARDS
Please
remember the following important points:
1)
Only players participating in the
match should appear on the roster sheet. If a player’s name appears on the
roster, but he is not present at the ID check, his name MUST be deleted from the
list.
2)
If a player arrives late, and
therefore is not on the roster sheet, he is NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY during the first
half of the match. His name can be added to the roster at halftime—after his
ID card has been checked—and he can enter the game as a substitute.
3)
Teams have the prerogative of
having one of their officials present at the ID check of the opposing team. We
realize that a lot of teams do not wish to do this but, if they don’t, they
have little to complain about later on!
4)
If a player does not have a valid
VMSL identification card, or a letter of permission from the league allowing him
to play without an ID card, the referee MUST inform both team managers that the
player will be playing ineligibly and that his team might face severe punishment
from the league. The referee MUST report this infraction in his match report.
5)
Please remember the substitution
rules:
a)
Five substitutions during the
entire game for regular divisions. Substitution slips are required!
b)
Five substitutions during the game,
plus unlimited at halftime, for ‘A’ CAT, ‘B’ CAT, and Under 21
Divisions. Substitutions slips are required ONLY during the game and NOT at
halftime.
c)
Unlimited substitutions in the
Masters’ Divisions. No sub slips required!
